3 Books That Changed The Way I Think, & Helped To Silence My Inner Rival

For me, books have been one of the most important ways to learn and grow in the ways I think and act. It's a hobby I believe has been lost in our society today with the use of video, phone, and audio devices. When reading a book, it allows me to think and ponder about what I am reading at a pace that allows me to process what the material is all about.

That being said, I want to share with you 3 books that have changed the way I live my life, my thoughts, my actions, and the way that I view the world around me.

1- Can’t Hurt Me- David Goggins

This book helped to teach me that we really do have complete control over our mind and actions. We get to choose the mindset we have at any given moment. And even when we don’t feel like doing something, we still have the ability to get it done.

It also taught me that when you are exhausted, you have only actually used part of what your body can actually produce. So much of the effort you can give is mental. Even when you think you physically can’t do any more…you can still get your mind to push your body further.

2- Man’s Search for Meaning- Viktor Frankl

One of the basic lessons this book teaches is that someone can withstand almost anything when their WHY is strong enough. If you have something that you truly believe in, you can handle any hardship that may come your way. Also, it teach me how difficult the lives of others can be, and how they were able to handle the adversity. Helping me to understand that my life isn’t as difficult as I imagined.

3- Lone Survivor- Marcus Latrell

This book has multiple lessons that I found important to learn. Those of strength, loyalty, character, resilience, and friendship. The fact that one man had the ability to endure so much, had friends that were willing to sacrifice their lives, and met people that have an abundance of character and integrity. To say that this book should be read by everyone isn't out of the question!

I have read many books throughout my years, and very few have had the impact on my life that these 3 books have had. I would highly recommend that everyone read these books! They are guaranteed to help silence your Inner Rival.
